NEW ROOF at PES
Work is beginning on the Paris Elementary Roof!
Ten years ago the Paris School Board and Administration started the application process for the partnership program, through the state of Arkansas, to have new roofs put on the Elementary School and the High School. Approval for the Elementary was granted but the state always had the project below their funding line and consequently never granted their portion (50%).
Two years ago, Dr. Fawcett and Richard Zimmer started the process to receive approval using ESSER (Elementary and Secondary Emergency Relief) funds. After patiently waiting for the Department of Education Facilities Division to allow the use of the funds to replace roofs bids were received in the spring and approved by the board. Both roofs are scheduled to be replaced this summer and work has already started.
ESSER finds will pay 100% of the total cost. This has no effect on the budget and saves the Paris School District and its taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars!

BASEBALL AWARDS continue for the PARIS EAGLES! Duke Walker was named by the Times Record, the Fort Smith Baseball Player of the Year! Nate Henderson was named to the First Team by the Times Record and Konnor Edwards was named to the second team. Also Coach Josh Hart was named COACH OF THE YEAR!! Congratulations to all!! GO EAGLES!

Today was a dream come true for Sarah Jo Lasiter. She was asked to present at a mental health work group full of state representatives, educators, and other key organizations/agencies surrounding the mental health field. Paris School District is SO honored to have this opportunity to advocate for change. WHAT A RIDE! WHAT A SEASON!! The Paris Eagles baseball team was defeated today 9-2 by Harding Academy in the STATE SEMI-FINALS! This team won the district tournament, won the regional tournament and finished in the final 4 of state! Congratulations Eagles on an OUTSTANDING season!
