Are you 5th or 6th grade parents who need work for their child but were unable to come to the Middle School before we closed? Well we have you covered! Stop by and grab a packet outside the office doors to pick up an assignment from last week or this weeks assignment!
VIRTUAL WORK FOR TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY
5th and 6th Grade work for Tuesday and Wednesday
- For literacy document independent reading 30 minutes a day. Write down the start and end time and the amount of pages read each day.
- For science, some sort of short science experiment where students either monitor weather in the morning, afternoon, and evening and write a paragraph to report the weather as if you are a meteorologist. OR choose an animal and analyze the physical and/or behavioral characteristics that help them survive and write a paragraph to report on it. Student can choose either way.
-For math, students do 20 squats while timing themselves.
Answer these questions.
1. How long did it take you?
2. How long would 700 squats take you?
3. How long would 1000 squats take you?
For fun: How many squats can you do in one minute? Get as many as possible and write it down. Don't forget, the person with the most squats will win a prize! Be prepared to prove it!
Also make sure work is done from the previous week. We still have packets from last week in the PMS Office lobby.
7th and 8th Grade... assignments have been posted on Google Classroom or your teachers planner! Make sure to check both places. If you don't have internet access but able to email, communicate with your teachers!
NAEP will be administered to 50 selected 8th graders on February 17th. More information will be sent out to those selected.
Reminder that Paris Schools will be virtual Thursday Jan 13th and Friday Jan 14th. Monday is a scheduled holiday. 5th and 6th graders were sent home paper copies to complete and work can be picked up from PMS Office Thursday and Friday from 8-3 (if needed). 7th and 8th graders should complete work virtually through their chromebooks.

Paris Middle School will be having an Awards Assembly on Friday, January 7th at 10:15. This assembly will recognize honor roll students of the 1st semester. We will be streaming this on the Paris Middle School Facebook page for parents to see. Unfortunately we will not be able to have visitors on campus.
After the assembly, we will stay on live and update the parents and community on events happening at Paris Middle School the second semester. Please tune in to see us recognize these students and to update everyone on events for the 2nd semester!
Both junior high teams were back in action tonight as they traveled to take on the Charleston Tigers. The JR Eagles will host Mulberry on Thursday!
Paris 7th grade teams get a split at Charleston with the boys winning a very close one 31-28! Good job Eagles!

7th Grade Basketball boys defeated Lavaca Thursday night 21-16. Josh Honea had 9 points and Landon Robberson had 8!
JR High Girls won 32-21 with Annabelle Perry scoring 14 and Judiah Brown adding 7.
Jr High Boys was defeated 50-17. Cutler Haller had 10 points for the Eagles.

Congratulations to our Jr High girls for their victory over Hackett last night 40-20! Annabelle Perry lead the team with 18 points and Preslee Bowman added 13. JR High boys were defeated 46-23 with Dax Baumgartner and Dimitri Capo scoring 6 a piece. 7th grade boys also secured a big win 37-12! Good job Eagles!
SEMESTER TEST WEEK!!! Also we will have no after school tutoring this week
We had a great time Thursday night with Cookies with Santa and seeing the kids enjoy making gingerbread houses and visiting with Santa. We appreciate all of the families that were able to make it out and enjoy a night of fellowship at Paris Middle School.
Come join the fun at Paris Middle School on Thursday night! We will have cookies, gingerbread houses to make, games to play and there might be some picture opportunities! All of this will take place in the safe room and cafeteria. Also the BOOK FAIR is going on in the Media Center that night and all week long!
