Grandparents day starts in the morning with 5th/6th grade from 7:30-8:15 and 7th/8th grade grandparents from 8:30-9:15!
Also on Wednesday, school will be dismissed at 1:20 for Teacher Development! All busses will run their normal routes starting at 1:20!

Parents and Guardians: Hopefully yesterday or today you will see your students bring home the pictured pamphlets about the dangers of vaping and electronic cigarettes. Mrs. Robertson and Mr. Prieur spoke with 7th and 8th graders yesterday and 5th and 6th graders today about the dangers and shown some videos as well. Guest speakers will also be on campus this year to share the message as well.
Please join us for GRANDPARENTS DAY at Paris Middle School. We will welcome 5th and 6th grade Grandparents from 7:30-8:15 and 7th and 8th grade Grandparents from 8:30-9:15. Just this morning, I recovered 4 vapes (see picture) from students at Paris Middle School. According to the FDA, 3.3% of middle schoolers have consumed e-cigarettes or vapes. Now this percentage doesn't seem that high, but what if it was your child that was part of the 3.3%. We are committed to educating our young people about the dangers of vaping. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT HAS US CONCERNED! E-cigarette consumption among teenagers has increased 1,800% over the last year! We are discussing with your children the dangers of vaping, we are providing education for those who have vape issues, and we are trying to be proactive. PARENTS please help us! Talk to your children about this issue and don't be afraid to search their bags if needed. Please report to me if you hear of any vape use.

The A Games are back! We want your kids here! All kids will participate this year but each kid will receive points for attendance for their team. So the more days your kid comes to school...the more points they earn!!! First A Games is October 13th!

REMINDER that PMS is hosting an OPEN HOUSE on Thursday, August 10th from 4:00-6:00. There will be time to explore the campus and meet the teachers from 4:00-4:45 and from 5:00-5:45. We will have a brief meeting in the auditorium for the parents to hear from some staff at 4:45-5:00 and 5:45-6:00. Both sessions will be the same and not a must to attend. Hope to see you all sometime Thursday!
On Thursday, August 10th, there will be a mandatory Band parent and student meeting right after open house. The meeting will take place at the Middle School auditorium and will start at 6:15 pm. This is for all 6th - 8th Grade Band students and parents. The meeting should last about an hour. Please make plans to attend.
Paris Middle School is looking for applicant(s) to assist during the mid-day for recess supervision. The times would be from 11:00-12:45. This is an hourly position with lunch! Please email tprieur@parisschools.org if you are interested.
We are 2 weeks away from the first official day of school!!! For the past few years, we have had a staggered start and we are going to continue this. August 14th, 5th and 8th graders will report to PMS and then on August 15th, 6th and 7th graders will report. On August 16th, all grades will report to PMS for the 2023-2024 school year!
Paris Middle School invites students and parents/guardians to OPEN HOUSE on Thursday, August 10th from 4:00-6:00. Come by and drop in and pick up schedules and meet your teachers and explore the campus!
7th Grade Immunizations!!!
Reminder that Mrs. Kim needs a copy of each students immunization record with required immunizations. They can be dropped off at the office or emailed to her at kvickers@parisschools.org!
Paris Middle School would like to welcome Lauren Cannon to the team! Mrs Cannon will be teaching 7th Grade Math. Why does that name ring a bell??? Her husband, Andrew Cannon, is a 5th grade teacher at PMS. We are excited to have both Cannons teaching at PMS. This is a BIG BOOM (2 Cannons!) for students at PMS.
Paris Middle School would like to welcome Michele Coble to the PMS Family! Ms Coble comes to Paris from Ozark and she will be teaching Alternative Education at the Middle School. Welcome aboard!
