October 6-12th is National Fire Prevention Week this year. In an effort to help raise awareness, Paris Fire Department visited with students at Paris Elementary this week. The firemen shared information with the students about fire prevention and safety tips to follow in case they're ever involved in a fire. Students also got an up-close look at the Paris Fire Engine.
4th grade teachers have decided to start a new tradition - "Book talks at Breakfast!" The 4th grade teachers and other school staff are invited to share, a couple times each month, about a book they've recently read. Today, Mrs. Schluterman shared about her book, No Flying in the House.

Make plans to join us at PES on Oct 18th from 4:30-6:30 for the Lil' Eagles Tailgate/Carnival before the SR High Football vs Charleston game! There will be food, games and more! Any PES student who attends the tailgate party will receive free admission to the football game that night! #wearepariseagles
Students will dismiss early on Oct 24th, with 1st bell at PES ringing at 1:20, PMS 1:25, PHS 1:30. Parent/Teacher conferences begin at 2 pm. NO SCHOOL on Friday, Oct 25th.

Paris Elementary second grade students had the opportunity to complete a fall scarecrow project with their family's help recently. Students were encouraged to use whatever supplies they had on hand at home or found items from nature. Always some very unique ideas! These scarecrows are on display in the PES second grade hallway. #wearepariseagles

Mrs. Kati Patterson, recently started what she calls Motivation of the Day in her 4th grade classroom. Everyday, she or a student suggests a motivational quote for the class to briefly talk about, sharing what they think the quote means and what they took away from the quote. "I found myself needing some motivation and thought why not share with my students because they may need someone, or something to motivate them as well. I always enjoy hearing what they think the quote means, because I sometimes get a completely different answer than what I was thinking." #wearepariseagles

PES Dress Up Days are: Oct 1 Tuesday-Twin day, Oct 2 Wednesday-Disney Day (dress up as favorite Disney book character), Oct 3 Thursday- Troop Shirt Day (elementary only), Oct 4 Friday-Blue/White Day.
PES students are so excited when they get selected to "Eat Lunch with the Principal." Each week, 3 students are chosen from each classroom from a specific grade level to have lunch with Mrs. Schluterman or Mr. Pearson. Students are chosen for a number of reasons from making improvements academically and/or behaviorally, demonstrating a positive work ethic, being helpful and demonstrating good character traits. Congratulations to this week's students who were selected!
PES students and staff celebrating achievements in attendance and reading at their pep rally this morning! The SR High Cheer team even came to help cheer them on!
