Students in third grade have recently learned that reading aloud to someone or something improves reading skills. They tried the strategy out this week by reading to a stuffed animal they were allowed to bring to school for the day.




Thanks to some AMAZING donors, Mrs. McGarrah's kindergarten class is getting free books from Scholastic Book Club! Every month each student from the class will receive a free book to keep and love! They received their first books this month and are so very excited and thankful!


1st grade students in Mrs. Jones' class have been learning about the importance of voting. Recently, they had the opportunity to vote for their favorite teacher. They really enjoyed the experience!





PES will hold its annual community health fair Tuesday, Oct 9th 6-8 pm, offering free screenings, health info, healthy snacks, door prizes & student entertainment - “Eagle Ninja Warrior” Challenge in the gym - K– 6:10-6:30, 1st & 2nd gr 6:30-6:50, 3rd & 4th gr 6:50-7:10.

Students in Mrs. Jones 1st grade class have been learning about verbs. To help further their understanding, students made verb cities. Students drew only verb-related pictures in their cities before presenting to the class.



Fourth grade teachers held a ceremony for students that reached the 10 point club in Accelerated Reader. Students were presented with an award while classmates cheered for their success. Way to go!




Congratulations to Mrs. Snow's kindergarten class on being chosen by PES Counselor - Mrs. Moss - as the Best Class of the Week! Snow's class was chosen for being good listeners, not being disruptive and following instructions the first time. Way to go!


Teresa Inman, Instructional Technology Coordinator, spoke with 3rd & 4th graders about behaving safely, thinking critically, and acting responsibly online. We are preparing for Digital Citizenship Week Oct 15–19.

3rd grade students in Mrs. Ivey's STEM lab designed, created and tested out their hoop gliders today to see whose design would fly the farthest.

Little Eagle Cheer Clinic performance has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Sept 25th at the Volleyball game due to forecasted rain tonight. Please arrive at gym by 5:20. Performance will begin at approx. 5:35. Admission for parents to the game will be $5. Thank you
