October 7-13th is National Fire Prevention Week. In an effort to help raise awareness, Paris Fire Department visited with students at Paris Elementary this week. The firemen shared information with the students about fire prevention and safety and what to do in case of a fire.

Third grade students are doing a wonderful job with Accelerated Reader! As they earn AR points, students choose a butterfly or grasshopper to move up the flower. These butterflies and grasshoppers are getting the nutrients they need to be "Growing Readers." #RISEArkansas

Students in third grade have recently learned that reading aloud to someone or something improves reading skills. They tried the strategy out this week by reading to a stuffed animal they were allowed to bring to school for the day.

Thanks to some AMAZING donors, Mrs. McGarrah's kindergarten class is getting free books from Scholastic Book Club! Every month each student from the class will receive a free book to keep and love! They received their first books this month and are so very excited and thankful!
