S.W.A.T. challenge

Paris Middle School has been conducting the S.W.A.T. program for all eighth grade students for the past twelve years, to build teamwork, confidence, improve critical thinking skills and increase knowledge. S.W.A.T. stands for Surviving Withstanding Achieving Together.

Last week, eight graders voted to elect team leaders. They also filled out interest inventories to be used on Friday in the anonymous draft held to choose team members. Students may earn bonus points for their S.W.A.T. team for positive behaviors such as perfect attendance and bringing in recycled items. S.W.A.T. points can be deducted for negative behaviors such as being assigned to ISS and After School Detention.

The eighth graders compete in challenges throughout the school year, learning new skills and teamwork. There will be a culminating event at the end of the school year and one team will be named winner!
