Yesterday was National School Custodian Day! Shoutout to the true MVPs of our school — the custodians who somehow manage to clean up glitter, mystery spills, and whatever that is in the lost and found… all with a smile! They’ve mastered the art of floor shining, trash bin wrangling, and ninja-level hallway sweeping without ever tripping over a backpack. Let’s be honest — without them, we’d all be stuck in a glue-stick-and-gum apocalypse. Today marked a very special milestone — the 50th anniversary (if we counted correctly) of the PES Track Meet! It was a day filled with energy, sportsmanship, and tradition. Even more bittersweet, it was also Mrs. Barnhill’s final track meet as she prepares for a well-earned retirement. She's been the heart and soul of this event, inspiring generations of students to run their hardest and cheer the loudest. Though Mrs. Barnhill will be passing the baton, the PES Track Meet will continue — stronger than ever — as part of the legacy she leaves behind. Teacher Appreciation Week – Day 3! After braving the rain at today’s track meet, our amazing teachers were treated to some well-deserved snacks. A special thanks to Chevy White, one of our awesome 4th graders, who helped load up the snack cart before it was rolled around to surprise teachers with goodies. Rainy weather or not, we always want to find ways to show our appreciation. From Band-Aids to belly aches, mystery rashes to “I just don’t want to go to math class” fevers, Nurse Lynsey handles it all with a smile, a thermometer, and possibly some magical nurse powers. At Paris Elementary, she’s not just our nurse — she’s a detective, counselor, comedian, and occasional tooth fairy. We don’t know how she does it, but we’re so glad she does! Big shoutout to Mrs. Cruzate! She did it—Mastered it! Literally! Mrs. Cruzate just graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with her Master of Science in School Counseling and we couldn’t be more excited for her! All those late nights, papers, and Alani runs paid off. She’s now officially a MASTER at helping students succeed—and we know she’s going to be amazing in this next chapter. Day 1 of 4th Grade ATLAS Testing: Complete! Day 2 of 3rd Grade Testing: Done and Dusted! ATLAS Testing Begins! Our 3rd graders are kicking off their ATLAS testing this week, and we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work and determination! To help cheer them on, our hallways are filled with heartfelt letters of encouragement from parents and teachers. From inspiring words to colorful messages, the support surrounding our students is a beautiful reminder that they’re not in this alone. Our 3rd graders had a blast during our Easter Egg Hunt—but with a twist! Each egg was filled with ELA and Math questions to help review for the upcoming ATLAS testing. Students teamed up to solve problems, find eggs, and show off everything they’ve learned this year. Who says test prep can’t be fun?
