On Monday, August 31, 2020, we had confirmation of our first positive case of COVID-19 with a student at Paris Elementary. This student only attended one day last week and was in close contact with very few students due to the split schedule. All of the parents of any student in close contact have been notified and have been very cooperative. This was not unexpected and every procedure as set forth by the Arkansas Department of Health and the Arkansas Department of Education has been followed. We will continue to update as we have further cases or of any developments. We continue to clean, sanitize, encourage masks and distancing and take every precaution to mitigate the risk.
