Third grade students were recently invited to take part in the Festival of Science at the University of Arkansas Ft. Smith. Thirty-one students from Paris spent their Saturday attending the festival. The festival is sponsored by UAFS, College of STEM, ERZ (Education Renewal Zone) and STEM Education Center. Professors and staff opened their classrooms for some fun and exciting science experiments. Experiments and activities included: a dry ice light show, sun activated photo paper, pond life with microscopes, mira drawing, paper helicopters, robotic car programming, tangrams, slime, oobleck, silly putty, making bouncy balls, and panning for gold! Students also received t-shirts, prizes, and popcorn.
